Reflecting on this past year, we're inspired by the work we have done together. Thank you for your trust and partnership, we're excited for all the opportunities and projects the new year will bring!
At the start of the year, Sylvie took on her first project with a clear and ambitious goal: to validate three end-of-life concepts within two and a half months.
She assessed the desirability, viability and feasibility of three concrete ideas: the End-of-Life Consultant, an Information Platform, and an End-of-Life Chatbot. Each concept was tested and evaluated within the set timeframe.
The outcome was clear and actionable. The chatbot and the end-of-life doula concept were not viable as services. The Information Platform, however, proved its value and has since been integrated into the Helan website.
This project became a strong building block for many other innovative validation tracks within Helan.
Within the strategic option Zorg Zonder Ziekenhuis, Sylvie worked closely with Kim to explore how care can be organized outside the hospital setting. They started from a broad topic and, through desk research and analysis, narrowed this down to three key target groups: patients with obesity, cardiovascular conditions, and back and neck problems.
Based on this focus, three concepts were developed to give tangible direction to the strategy. Sylvie focused designing and validating the obesity concept in the early stages. She validated it thoroughly by testing desirability, viability and feasibility. This included setting up surveys, building smoke pages, analyzing the results and performing a viability check.
Jasper analysed and streamlined the Jira project workflow to reduce unnecessary handling steps and accelerate ticket resolution, resulting in an improved service experience for business users.
He also enhanced the Red Button ticketing interface to increase user-friendliness and significantly reduce incorrectly submitted requests, ensuring smoother intake and faster follow-up.
De Zorgwijzer was designed to support people who are losing autonomy, helping them live at home for longer while also making the work of Zorconsulenten more efficient.
Annabelle helped coordinate the viability testing, making sure the right questions were asked before moving forward. To do this, she worked closely with stakeholders to define clear acceptance criteria and align the tool’s requirements with real needs in the field.
Once the campaigns went live, Annabelle took ownership of analyzing the results. She combined insights from telephone interviews and data analytics to build a clear picture of what worked and what could be improved. Throughout the process, she brought the right people together, ensured smooth collaboration, and translated insights into actionable next steps.
Sylvie turned the innovation and validation approach for Helan van Morgen into a clear, reusable playbook. She documented and structured the way teams generate and validate new ideas, building on insights from earlier projects and concrete experience in the field.
The toolbox helps teams move from strategic direction to validated concepts in a consistent and practical way. It is designed to evolve over time, allowing new insights and best practices to be added as the organization continues to learn.
Prototyping and delivery are not part of this playbook, but naturally follow as next steps once concepts have been validated.
Jasper coordinated the planning and execution of the Windows 11 migration, ensuring all employees received timely scheduling and clear, structured guidance. This resulted in a smooth transition with minimal disruption to ongoing business operations.
In Q4 Sylvie joined De Versneller, where ideas are tested at high speed. She coordinated Startwijzer, a collaboration between Xerius and Helan, by shaping the concept and defining a clear objective.
In parallel, she is currently further developing the Proof of Concept for “families with children” and setting up experiments with the team to validate the ideas.
Jasper also conducted a comprehensive review of software licensing costs and identified that many licenses were not aligned with the actual needs of the workforce. By analyzing usage patterns and existing agreements, he uncovered clear opportunities for optimization. This analysis provided the organization with valuable insights to reduce unnecessary expenses and supported more cost-efficient decision-making.
